The Shadow to the Light experience

"We help you implement change, and maintain it."

As the day will come when each of us looks back and asks "Could I have done more?", "Could I have understood myself and those around me better?"... here, at our Shadow to the Light centre located in the South-West of France, we help you understand what we call your operating system, composed of the "parts" that drive your daily life. These parts are otherwise labeled as thoughts, feelings and emotions. By gaining a deeper understanding of ourselves, we are able to realise that we are not broken, and are not the labels that we or others have defined ourselves with. We can then unburden and start implementing change in the long run and for the better.

Words left unspoken become a Silence that can be heard forever.

David Landers

Imagine that you could step in a safe space, and go through a modality that will help you recall the moments that have become your driving patterns creating your everyday thinking, in order to lessen the emotional reflexes that become your triggers.

We invite you to do so with the help of a qualified coach, in our centre in the South-West of France that offers harmony, fresh air, healthy food, walks. In a sanctuary of peace. We could openly discuss within a group, helping you to finally be able to speak the words that have remained your silence.

Delphine & David have brought all these elements together in the Shadow to the Light Centre, as they wish to help you implement a change that is sustainable. More details under the 'Coaching options' page.

Introduction to David's modality

Inspiration.

After coming from a personal place that needed some deep regression work, and thinking about the therapies available, David decided to change the dynamics of theory by creating his own modality. Traditional talk therapy, and its process of trying to memorise, then visualise then understand how one could change, and all of that within 6 inches, from ear to ear in the brain, just didn’t feel right. It felt too surface-level.

Traditionally, when something does not work, we break it down before we can fix it, should it be a car, a house, a coffee machine, a sports injury... we single out the part that needs fixing. We locate it then we slowly but surely heal the pain. This is what David's modality is about, identifying the part within your self which needs attention, and working on reprogramming it.

After being influenced and taking in with great admiration the teachings and transmissions of the Swiss psychoanalyst Karl Gustav Jung, who introduced archetypes and shadows, and of Richard Schwartz, creator of Internal Family Systems (designing his modules around part systems), then enjoying for himself the benefits of visualisation and role playing during a shadow work experience, David put in place his own therapy modality he calls the Operating system, or Shadow system.

Our operating system.

We run into trouble, because we believe that we are that bad job, or that bad relationship, that bad thought, that bad friendship, that bad day, that bad habit, that bad last situation… we believe we are just one thing, while we are not.

We function based on an operating system composed of four main parts, an outcast, a supervisor, a troubleshooter, and source. Each play a role to help us navigate life, to keep us safe, and once we understand that they are just here to show us a familiar way, we can start to understand that they are not to be rejected, nor treated with disdain or disrespect. They are to be understood, they are to be asked questions, they are to be cared for, they can help us think and face anything in the future.

Rebuilding
yourself up.

This modality broadens out our ability to look at ourselves and redefine where we need to look at, in terms of our behaviours. With a technique of passage of time, created by David, and role-playing exercises thereafter, we are allowed to step in parts of our life, revisit our memories, validate them if need be, and also change the way we look at them, if need be.

From it one can gain long-lasting change, then be able to maintain that change.

A modality which can help in any way you need

This modality can be used to heal challenging memories, to create a prosperous life after addictions, etc. It can also be used around your career, if you want to make something happen that is not quite happening yet. It can also support you around family structures or relationships.

What we offer is not restricted to « fixing a problem » although that is one of our drivers of course. It could also support you if what you think is « my life is going great but I could do with it going even better », or « my job is good, but let me try and manifest a better way » or again « I love my spouse and I want to improve my partnership even more ».

The outcast.

The outcast is our hidden gems buried beneath the rubbles of other people's opinions, creating a default setting. It has crystallised into a sub-personality which is pushed aside, into the dark places of the subconscious. Examples would be people-pleasing or dependency on others.

The supervisor.

As a result, an internal security guard develops in order to supervise the adaptation from the outcast. It is the sub-personality that is constantly with you all day, scanning, assessing, projecting... in other words, it helps you function in every moment of your life.

The troubleshooter.

In the hour of need, the troubleshooter will take control. It is called upon when everything else has failed and is acting out with extreme measures in the face of challenges, all with the intention to protect.

Source.

Source is what unites everything, in non-judgement. It is the moral compass of the soul. It pulls us in alignment with kindness, with Truth, and beyond limiting beliefs.

More about each of the parts is proposed under the tab 'Parts identification'.
